On Islay there are many villages. Most of the villages have places for children to go and things for them to do. The main villages are:

• Port Ellen

• Bowmore

• Bridgend

• Bruichladdaich

• Ballygrant

• Port Charlotte

• Portnahaven

• Port Askaig

• Keills

• Caol Ila

Islay has 2 ferry ports that are in Port Ellen and Port Askaig. These  are places that you can see and get on the ferry. Other boats can be found at the pier also and in Port Ellen there are pontoons for yachts.

The Islay Airport is between Port Ellen and Bowmore.

Maps of Islay can be bought at the Tourist Information in Bowmore and in other shops on the island.
